Scimitars
Reliant are better known for their three-wheeled vehicles but the
company has been producing 'SCIMITARS' since 1964. The following is a
short history of Scimitar production.
- Scimitar GT SE4-4a-4b-4c

Often referred to as the Coupe'. This model was produced from
1964 until 1970. It is a 2 seater sports car.
- Scimitar GTE SE5-5a

The 5-5a GTE is often referred to as the 'classic' Scimitar as
it was the first model to be classed as a true sporting estate. This
model was produced in the largest numbers. A genuine 2+2 Grand
Touring Estate.
- Scimitar GTE SE6-6a-6b & 8b GTC

These second generation GTE & GTC models were aimed at a
different market than the first GTE's. Longer, wider and more refined
they are the natural progression.
- Small Sports - SS1-SST-Sabre
- The small Sports car range was introduced in 1984 by Reliant in an
attempt to capture the lucrative 2 seater open top sports car market.
Later developments were to see improvements to the design.
